ความหมาย
แนวรับคือโซนราคาที่ราคาขาลงเคยหยุดหลายครั้งเพราะมีแรงซื้อเข้ามา ส่วนแนวต้านคือโซนที่ราคาขาขึ้นเคยชะงักหลายครั้งเพราะมีแรงขาย ทั้งสองเป็นโซนที่ลากจากพฤติกรรมราคาในอดีต ไม่ใช่เส้นตายตัว และถูกทะลุได้
ตัวอย่าง (สมมติ)
ในกราฟสมมติ ราคาเด้งขึ้นจากแถว 100 สามครั้งในหนึ่งเดือน เทรดเดอร์จึงมาร์ก 99–101 เป็นโซนแนวรับไว้ศึกษา ถ้าต่อมามีแท่งรายวันปิดต่ำกว่า 99 ชัดเจน แปลว่าโซนนั้นถูกทะลุแล้ว

Definition
Support is a price area where falling prices have repeatedly stopped because buying interest appeared; resistance is an area where rising prices have repeatedly stalled because selling interest appeared. They are zones drawn from past price behaviour, not exact lines, and they can break.
Example (hypothetical)
On a hypothetical chart, price bounces up from around 100 three times over a month. A trader marks 99–101 as a support zone for study; a later daily close well below 99 would show the zone has failed.
