Definition
A corrective wave moves against the larger trend and is usually labelled with letters, the simplest form being A-B-C. Common corrective patterns include zigzags, flats and triangles; corrections tend to be more varied and harder to label in real time than impulses.
Example (hypothetical)
After a hypothetical five-wave rise to 155, price falls to 140 (A), rebounds to 148 (B) and falls to 132 (C). An analyst labels this three-wave decline a zigzag correction.
